This opportunity is exactly what the members of this cohort were in need of...a chance to focus on their site-based needs and develop an inquiry (and rationale for the inquiry) with their colleagues!
I had the opportunity to either meet with, or communicate and plan a time to meet with, all three sites and are in the process of finalizing our inquiry proposals to submit to the NAPDS Conference program.
In addition to inquiry, our cohort collectively discovered some of the needs of our group - to continue building community within our class. All of the members of the cohort come from different schools and have a variety of challenges and needs at their specific sites, therefore I am challenged with teaching coursework to a wide-range of needs. Just like what is expected of our teachers, differentiation is the key to overall success. Therefore, I am not taking this challenge lightly! Instead, I am committed to building community, while meeting the needs of my students, in order to move forward as a cohesive team!
I believe that our group will be able to develop into the tight-knit unit that makes Teacher Leadership work. I look forward to continue my work with them collectively and individually to create strong teacher leaders.
Until next time...
